My very first Walkman(tm): The new Sony Ericsson W705

A couple of days ago I lost my mobile - and was disconnected from the modern lifestyle. No phoning, no messages, no music on the bike, no cam for snapshots, no numbers to dial from other phones... 'cause there isn't any sign visible the lost phone will find the way back to me, I jumped to the next dealer and got a new one.

This phone is a slider.

Since my first K750 I'm a big fan of Sony Ericsson. Today you find three types of mobiles: iPhones and wanna-bes, cheap simple phones for technology haters - and Walkman(tm) phones. I love the handling of SonyEricsson mobiles, I love the look of the silver slider and I need a good music player in a mobile. So I grabbed the W705 without a second of thinking. "Me want this!"

Internet via WLAN - small and not iPhonish, but ok to check the latest news.

Of course, it's not a cool iPhone. But I think I'm not yet ready for a fragile touchscreen smartphone, I need a stupid simple mobile with keys. And yes, there's better Walkman phones too, W995 or W715 both with GPS and better cams - but my network operator offers the W705 for 0 Euro, a W995 costs more than EUR 250...

The walkman music player with a lot of features. Looks great and sounds better.

A quick check after the first day: WLAN is a nice feature, the music player is better than the one in my lost C702, a Facebook app is preinstalled (yes, I'm now on Facebook too), and the videoplayer supports the iPod movie formats often used in podcasts.

I'm connected again, yes!
